As per the regulations of the West Bengal University of Technology and A.I.C.T.E. norms an applicant for the admission to B.Tech Degree course must have passed or appeared in 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination with English and with 50% marks (45% for for SC/ST) in Physics, Mathematics (Compulsory) and Chemistry taken together for being eligible. If at the time of admission the results of 10 + 2 H.S. is not declared the applicant has to give an undertaking that if he fails to pass the examination, he will withdraw his name from the Institution .

Admission to course will be made on the basis of the merit list from the Joint Entrance Examination for engineering to be conducted by West Bengal Board of examination for admission to Engineering Degree Colleges or A.I.E.E.E. conducted by the Central Board of Higher Secondary Examination .

In case a candidate fails to admit himself/herself after obtaining the allotment for CSC/AIEEE counseling board within seven days from the date of allotment, it will be presumed that he/she is not interested in getting himself/herself admitted to BIET and the amount paid by him/her to the Institution will be forfeited.
